The Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club, a distinctive, AAA Four Diamond hotel property located on Duke University's campus, is hosting an introductory dance class, titled “Swing in Style.” Led by Sadie Zimet of Ninth Street Dance, this class invites guests to connect in a lively setting while learning triple steps, rock steps and other East Coast Swing staples that have charmed generations since the Big Band era. Following the hour-long dance class, guests will then venture to the Inn’s beautifully renovated Vista Restaurant from 7-7:30 p.m. to enjoy an intimate Q&A session to learn about the cultural context and origins of the dance style they just mastered. The imaginative culinary team will also serve a complimentary cocktail sample inspired by the vibrant flavors of the Roaring Twenties in New York City – where East Coast Swing dancing originated.    Sadie Zimet, a Durham-based artist and instructor, has been teaching ballroom and social dance in the Triangle since 2013. Her expertise spans a wide variety of styles, including East and West Coast Swing, Tango, Cha Cha, Salsa and more.
