GRRRLBANDS is all about breaking down barriers in the music scene—providing a supportive, high-energy environment where creativity, collaboration, and community come first. Forget the gatekeeping; we’re here for the noise, the confidence-building, and the DIY spirit.
🛍️ SHOP THE MARKET (1:00 PM – 7:00 PM) The Rainbow Exchange Vendor Market will be in full swing all afternoon! Come support our local queer vendors and browse unique, handmade goods from the community’s best artists and creators. As featured in The Daily Tar Heel, this market is all about making the local art scene more accessible and inclusive for everyone.
🎸 THE STAGE Get ready for an Open Stage featuring a rotation of incredible performances from GRRRLBANDS! You’ll see the magic of folks taking up space, making their voices heard, and bringing serious energy to the Speakeasy stage.
✂️ 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM | Open Crafting Tables Feeling sentimental? Or maybe a little salty? We’ve got you. Join us at our crafting station to DIY your own Valentines or Anti-Valentines. We’ll provide the supplies; you provide the attitude. Make something sweet for a crush or something snarky for your "ex-best-mistake."
🎲 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM | Social Games Socializing can be tough, so we’re making it easy. From 4:00 to 6:00 PM, we’ll be hosting a variety of games designed to help you connect with fellow queer community members, music lovers, and makers. It’s low-pressure, high-fun, and the perfect way to spend your afternoon.
