IMPACT SERIES: Chamber Treasures- Music by Black Composers
Faculty and students of the North Carolina Chamber Music Institute invite the public to join a celebration of the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. when they perform music of black composers at a free concert.
Dr. Timothy Holley, cellist and associate professor of music at NC Central University, is curating the program which will include works by composers Ulysses Kay, Irene Britton Smith, Rhiannon Giddens, and more!
The concert will also feature composer and singer James Dargan. Immediately prior to the concert (6:30pm), NCCMI will present, "Conversation with the Composer" with Mr. Dargan! Anyone interested in how someone becomes a composer should plan to attend this interactive event.
