40th Kwanzaa Festival

Join the African American Dance Ensemble as we commemorate our 40th Kwanzaa Festival. Kwanzaa is a festive celebration for EVERYONE, highlighting the importance of family, friends, and the abundance of the earth. Kwanzaa pays tribute to the values of family, community, and culture, centering on seven essential principles that lay the groundwork for peace and advancement in our neighborhoods.

Come together on January 1st to honor the principle of Imani, or Faith, at The Historic Durham Armory (212 Foster Street, Durham, NC). Doors will open to the public at 11:00 am, with performances starting at 2:00 pm. Kwanzaa is free and open to all.

Kwanzaa Fest acts as both a marketplace for vendors and a performing arts concert, filled with dance, music, poetry, and more.

In memory of Baba Chuck Davis, donated canned goods and toiletries will be given to a local non-profit organization.
