NCModernist’s 2025 Architecture Movie Series concludes with the 2024 film “Schindler Space Architect,” followed by a Q&A session with the film’s producer/director, Valentina Ganeva. Narrated by Meryl Streep, this feature-length documentary explores the life and work of Austrian-born architect Rudolph M. Schindler, a pioneer of modern architecture who laid the foundation for what is now considered the “California lifestyle” of indoor-outdoor living. It is an investigation of his philosophy of “space architecture,” as he called his work, as opposed to the International Style that defined modern architecture during most of his life.
