To kick off our 50 Year Celebration at Hayti, we look to the wisdom and legacy of our African American Quilters Circle, whom are Celebrating 25 Years in Residence at Hayti Heritage Center.

To kick off our 50 Year Celebration at Hayti, we look to the wisdom and legacy of our African American Quilters Circle, whom are Celebrating 25 Years in Residence at Hayti Heritage Center. Our Quilters meet ever 2nd Saturday of each Month and share techniques, stories and histories all thru the art of quilting. Their new exhibit focuses on the theme of our shared humanity. Stop by and look at the gorgoeus world of what one can do with a needle and thread and how these amazing artist sew together patterns and capture the essence of life. The exhibit begins Jan. 17th and runs thru March 16th. Free and open to the public. suggested donation $ Here’s what to expect: Come see the new exhibit by The African American Quilting Circle. They are celebrating a 25 year legacy of preserving and passing down the long tradition of quilt art in the Black Community. The exhibit - Ubuntu: I AM Because WE ARE opens Jan. 17th and is on display thru March 16th The 3rd Friday in Feb. we'll have an Artist Talk with the member os the quilting group and get insights to their process and what the art of quilting means to them and our community. It’s a beautiful way to connect with our shared history and the stories that make us who we are. Come celebrate with us!
