This workshop is designed to help you hone your overall painting techniques and creative confidence by exploring creative colors and brush work plus choosing the best composition. Bring in your favorite coastal scenes printed on glossy paper, or on your iPad (or use Nicole’s photos). There is more than one way to approach a scene and Nicole will help guide you from a strong start to finishing with finesse. NOTE: Please avoid dominant figures in your coastal photos in this workshop, for example a photo of children playing on the beach is better suited for a figurative workshop. OBJECTIVES Choosing a photo and cropping for best composition Drawing, simplifying perspective and using interesting shapes to transfer the scene onto your canvas Using color in unexpected creative ways to add interest and beauty Applying brushwork and marks to help pop Learning how to wipe out areas to add more luminosity Having fun discovering your style
